I feel like we really made some Defining progress today!
1. Project PROBLEMS.
How can we get more people to know about registering to donate bone marrow (same).
2. Design Thinking MODE.
Define
3. TOOL.
Today we did a lot of mapping and grouping in the design studio. It was me and Lindsay for most of the time and I think we both see things best when it is all written out and we know how to follow it.
4. What did I HOPE TO GAIN from the tool?
The main purpose of our board was to find different ways that we could spread the word about bone marrow registry. We discussed the different ways we thought of to publicize something like this.
5. What did I GAIN from the tool?
This was a great tool. I think this was kind of us just getting our ideas out so that we could see and think continually without having to remember past ideas. We started by thinking of ways that we see things getting spread throughout large groups of people, using the data we had previously gathered and personal experiences. We then narrowed it down to a few general topics. With these topics, we again expanded into a few categories each. We made a group decision to ask people about these topics. Our initial thought was to ask them what they would best respond to, but then we twisted to idea into asking people what they would use if they were to be in our position, trying to get people to know about this registry. I think this gives people a more creative mind for solutions. We made up a little sheet of paper that we will give students to fill out to answer this question. That will come at Day 4.
6. What do you think the SOLUTION is?
From our data through the survey, I think that there needs to be a better way to get more people to know about registering to donate bone marrow. Along with this, I think that the process of donating needs to be shared (same).
